Within the rescue missions, there are great investigators that have dedicated time and effort, generally without remuneration and even putting in part of their savings to complete the projects they have set their minds to do as authorities think preservation of culture is a ridiculous subject. This brings to mind an anecdote with Mr. Winston Churchill during World War II, the Prime Minister of England restrains even more the rations on meet and asks to see the budget to see where he could "cut" some more to be able to keep up with the war effort. When the balance was shown to him, someone advised to reduce the money for culture. The Prime Minister refused emphatically and even increased the money for it. When he was asked why he had done that, he answered "Our culture and way of life is precisely what we are fighting for." Maybe politicians should read a little bit of history every now and then. Great work talk about the understanding of our grandfathers, the creation of a calendar and many achievements. A work of art truly amazing, as the preciseness sets it apart from any other calendar in the world. Frank Díaz says it should be named "Toltec Calendar" as the Toltecs were the ones that gave the final touches and definitive way of measuring time, in his book "Sagrado 13" (Sacred 13) . He tells us how the calendar was organized in blocks of twenty days, called "Veintenas". To complete a solar year 18 months are added. 18x20=360. The 5 remaining days were used as days of meditation and closure, what one did those days, it was a warning of what would be like for the rest of the year, so people tried not to do anything that could become a bad omen. Its precision and conclusions of the ancestors have been ignored during centuries, showing it's achievements is imperative to raise the knowledge of humankind. The rebuilding of the calendar as our grandfathers in ancient times used it has become source of infinite controversy and heated debate. I personally, was astonished by the perfection and precision shown is the correlation of Master Arturo Meza Gutiérrez, it ingenious system allows a daily measurement with precision to the last second, eliminating the need for a leap year. To visit the correlation, you can visit the link to the Mexican horoscope. Nevertheless, there is an interesting controversy about if a leap year was used or not, some chronicles assure there is, others deny it, so several correlation have developed. Frank Díaz in his book "Sagrado 13" makes a complete analysis and exposes both sides of the argument. He also explains the use of complex calculations made by the Mayas and the use of the zero. He makes an interesting proposal of using a better calendar than the one used today, which is imprecise and even the beginning of the year in the middle of winter is quite illogical. He tells us about it in his book "Our calendar is frankly a bad one. Even when astronomers are able to adjust the year in a second, we carry a heavy baggage like uneven months, that are not a multiplication of the week or year, arbitrary leap year, a total ignorance in practical planetary orbits, errors hidden in the mechanism (like the problem of the omission of the year zero omitted on the birth of Christ), etc."[translation by Mario LopezVital] Would you like to know this great man? Well, don't miss our next Mexican month's e-magazine, where you will have the opportunity to read an interview with none other than Frank Díaz.
